CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (FiCEP)

Through partnership with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, the Luminate Louisiana Credit Unions, and America's Credit Unions, the Carolinas Credit Union League is offering credit union staff in the Carolinas an opportunity to become Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors through the Enhanced Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP).

FiCEP enables all credit union staff to become more confident in helping members build a stronger financial future. The online self-study program is designed for credit union staff who work in the financial counseling, collections, and loan departments, or any other staff members who are committed to helping members gain control of their financial future.

Modeled after the America's Credit Unions' Certified Financial Counselor School, each participant who successfully completes the proctored exam is granted the Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation and is ready to help members reach their financial goals.

Important Details:

• Two Guided Study Sessions to take place before exams
  

Cost: $695 per person (a cost savings over $350 thanks to our partnership with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation!). Price includes webinars, self-study materials, and proctored exam.

Additionally, the Hamilton Fund is offering grants to small CUs under $100M in assets to cover the full registration cost (limited to one registration per credit union). Please apply for a Hamilton Grant here and you will be notified within a week of your approval. You will be provided a discount code to then register at no cost.

**FiCEP Disclaimer & Testing Policy**

All students must ensure that their exam portal login information is working correctly, as well as having a proper workspace with a working camera and internet access prior to exam day. Students understand that failure to have these items prepared prior to and/or on exam day will count as an unexcused absence from the exam. Students will have ONE additional opportunity to test following an unexcused absence. Students will also have up to ONE additional opportunity to retake the exam following a failing grade. ALL exam retakes will result in a $50 service charge directly from America’s Credit Unions. CCUL will proctor all exams. Supervisors may be contacted as needed.

Cancellation: Cancellations prior to the ordering of class material are eligible for a refund of the amount paid minus a 20% administrative fee. Class materials will be ordered on April 1. No refunds will be made after the material has been ordered, substitutions are welcomed and encouraged. Registration is limited to member‑affiliate credit unions; registrations determined to be ineligible will be refunded. Make A Difference

Help build a brighter future in Kojokpere, Ghana.

The CUxEL Global Impact Project is bringing Carolinas credit unions together to fund a computer lab that will provide students with access to technology, digital literacy and new educational opportunities.

The project will help equip two schools serving more than 650 students in Kojokpere, Ghana, and neighboring communities where access to computers is very limited.

Why It Matters

• 657 students attend the two schools in Kojokpere.
• Students from eight surrounding communities also rely on these schools.
• The region currently has little to no access to computer technology.
• A computer lab will create lasting educational opportunities while helping students thrive in their own community.

The Goal

Between now and September, raise $6,000 to help provide sustainable educational technology ($3,500 via fundraising efforts; $2,500 through the Foundation’s donation match). View the informational flyer to learn more about the project.

Location

The 2026 conference will take place at the Caraway Conference Center near Sophia, North Carolina. Set in the Uwharrie Mountains of central NC, Caraway provides modern day comforts in tranquil surroundings that will offer a stimulating learning environment. Please note that the conference center is owned by the NC Baptist Assembly and observes a strict no alcohol policy. Further, the conference center staff provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There are religious symbols incorporated into the overall structure and design of the facility.  

Cost

Per-person tuition of $700 is all inclusive (conference registration and materials, two nights' lodging, all meals and snacks).

Scholarships
